10 Nov Try Maine Tri – Three sports (hike, bike, sea kayak) in one 3 to 5 day adventure. Midcoast, Downeast, or Baxter Park.
May 27-May 29, 2016. Try Maine Tri, Gouldsboro, Maine
Additional dates to be announced.
We offer weekend and five-day versions of what we call the TMT – the Try Maine Tri – designed to rejuvenate the Body, Mind, and Spirit. Three sports, interspersed around some other really healthy and fun activities in various places throughout Maine, including Midcoast Boothbay/Camden area, Downeast/ Acadia National Park region, and Baxter State Park.
Hike, bike, and sea kayak. Enjoy yoga, practice “just being” in nature, forage for wild edibles, watch wildlife, listen to and participate in folk music, and lay in hammocks. Bike to sustainable organic farms and see something to apply back in your own garden.
Hike along scenic byways along the coast and in forests and pause to absorb nature. Sea kayak to Maine’s incomparable coastal islands, and experience the wonderful but tenuously changing ecology and geology of the North Atlantic from the peaceful perspective sitting just above the water’s surface.

We’ll kick things off with the first part of the welcome session to meet the guides and fellow adventurers at 5 p.m., followed by a delicious meal and an evening session of relaxing music on cello and guitar, with singing around a fire. We’ll cap the evening off with a short nighttime paddle to breathe in nature! We ‘ll keep our eyes open for phosphorescence in the ocean! (Dinner provided)
Day 2, Saturday – We’ll begin the day with stretching to get warmed up for the day of activity. After breakfast, we’ll make our way to the bike trails for a 2-3 hour bike ride. We’ll eat a packed lunch on the trails with gorgeous views. After lunch we will sea kayak along the coast or out to islands where you can relax in the late afternoon with time for stretching, napping, journaling, or reading on the island. Weather permitting, dinner will be prepared over a camp fire and served on the island. After kayaking back to the mainland, we’ll gather for music, and all will be encouraged to participate in whatever form they are moved to. There will be an optional late evening hike. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner provided)
Day 3, Sunday – We’ll begin the day with stretching and yoga to welcome the sunrise followed by a nutritious breakfast.
